Video Editing Software For Both And Pc How To Get YourCurrently i have a Macbook pro late 2011 I7 2.9Gz 8gb ram with a Samsung Evo 256gb SSD and the 750 stock HHD in the optical drive bay. I currently run on OS X with a slightly upgraded macbook pro, favouring Final Cut to edit films on.Currently i feel like i would like a more powerful machine. For example, I've got a watercooled i7 5320K Overclocked CPU, GTX 650Ti (1000 CUDA cores or so - which are only useful in Adobe, I believe), 128GB OS SSD, 4 TB of storage, and 16GB of RAM, BUT the system doesn't run as consistently fluent as my 2012 15" MBPr with an i7 and 8GB of RAM. Even the Mac Pro, BUT what you can't do with a PC is get the same quality as anything Mac for less than Mac price. You can build a PC that is "SPEC'D" the same as any Mac. What are peoples opinions on working between both Windows and Mac machines regularly for filmmaking based work? So my idea is to build something Windows based and convert to editing on Premiere Pro.So to the question i suppose. You get an industry leading 5K display that is backed behind a powerful machine. I am tired of windows, the clunky and bulky PCs, and a constant issue with getting a solid visual vibe from your work setup, so I'm changing to the new 5K iMac. Mac is meant for the amateur to professional user - at least it is designed that way. Mac shortcuts for photoshopThen you've justified the cost of a mac for three years. Mac is guaranteed to edit really well, look awesome, and come with a badass 3 year warranty for anything basically at the cost of only $215. FCP X seems a bit limited (no after effects), but cheaper. You won't find one yet, mac is always incorporating amazing quality components in their systems (although proprietary).Summary: Mac and Windows will run an video editing well. Try and find a 5k display that you can get for a reasonable price. OH! If you're going to be keeping a macbook around still, then go with mac. It's not a hard choice - how much money are you willing to spend. If you want a machine that is beautiful, runs really well, covered under full warranty, very optimized for editing, and costly, then buy a mac. If you want a budget performance machine - build a PC (or buy mine lol. There's always something with Windows(often so small you don't see it, but regardless.
